Gary first started singing Solos as a choirboy at school
-
(looks angelic..... Not!)
In his youth Gary would often tour the great Working mens
Clubs of the North of England with his Father and his
vocalist sister Sandra Christy, purely in a watching and
listening capacity. During this time he experienced a
dual musical upbringing -
Santana and Sinatra, ELO and Ella, Led Zep and Louis ...
(and strangely could sometimes be heard humming Mack the
Knife on the school playground...)
After a varied career in Electronics, Sales, IT, Web design,
and even Antiques and Collectibles (!) Gary finally started
singing again in 1995. This was mainly on the club circuit
with a varied Rock and Roll repotoire. In 2002 he saw
the light and started concentrating on the Jazz and Swing
Standards with Pete Cotterill, (Rest in peace) Tom Kincaid,
Richard Vernon and Roger Keay.
Gary is also privileged to have worked with many other
superb musicians, including Pete 'Pedro' Robinson, Paul
Kilvington, James Evans, Adrian Cox, Steve Moore, Johnny
Abbott, John Milner, John Perry, Gaz Hughes, Dave McGarry,
Don Wright, Carl
Brunsden, Frank Grime, Amy Roberts, to name but a few.
